Class 29 UDT SEAL Reunion Limited Edition
by John Carl Roat  -  A  Review by "The Nightscribe"

I  "discovered" it on-line, while looking for resources on BUD/S
SEAL/UDT class experiences of Real SEALs.

I have acquired this book from the author :)

"Class 29"is filled with interesting Anecdotes, Facts, and
Descriptions in a First Person "Been There Done That"
Account of what must have been a very painful experience for
the author John Carl Roat, as well as for anyone else as daring,
to challenge the "Test" to be a SEAL or UDT, as John put it!
The test as described in the book is actually the UDTR training,
"Class 29", of which John C. Roat was fortunate to qualify for,
attend, and PASS!!! (especially for this kind of class!!!).   Getting
to class alone is very tough!!   It is quite clearly the most difficult
military training that exists on Planet Earth!!

Comparing John's account with the "Commandos" book by
Douglas C. Waller, on the subject of SEAL training, John speaks
from the heart and draws from an experienced viewpoint of an
actual U.S. Navy SEAL, and not that of a war correspondent!
I do have to give Mr Waller a lot of credit though!   He had a lot
of guts to stay up without sleep during his coverage of SEAL
class #183 locked in "HellWeek", however the action is best
described by SEALs who actually have done exactly what they
are writing about!!

John covers all 6 phases of training that he went through!

I will leave it up to you, the curious one, to order a copy
of "Class 29 UDT SEAL" and read for yourself a great
truthful 1st Person account of what it takes to mold a
young man into a deadly SEAL TEAM member!
John holds nothing back!

John Carl Roat, I salute you on your fine story on your
successful emergence from SEAL training to the status
of a True and Tested Man of Warsman!!
