Other CDs with the Jongen Symphonie Concertante
(Unintended venue):
Before the concert at the intended
venue finally was played at the Grand Court for which the
work was commissioned, there were 10 "predecessor" CD's containing the 4-part
Jongen "Symphonie Concertante" that I could locate over the net. NOTE:
If they are reviewed and timing provided as listed below, I was able to obtain
the CD.
The list of CD's I have heard
featuring the Jongen "Symphonie Concertante" include
(Jacket detail with organ & location, Organist, conductor, and Orchestra
performing).
I list the ten that I have discovered , there are supposedly other CD's out there :)
1. "The Orchestral Works" of
Virgil Fox (Virgil Fox Legacy series);
(Organ, location, conductor, and orchestra are not listed in the jacket).
Comment: See next item #2, believed to be the same work, except a different
label.
The same comment there applies to this item #1.
2. "Symphonie Concertante, op

{OK-I coined here a new category of "Musical Martial Arts"; and I name its
FOUNDER as Virgil Fox. A Martial Arts Founder is usually 10th Dan, highest
rank!}

Orchestra - Dallas Symphony
Length: 33:03 mins:sec

Comment: Fair
On the Toccata, a bit too fast for this elegant composition.
Dorian should have made Guillou play as Jongen wrote it!
This is one composition that needs NO improvisation or transcription applied!!
