"The only known occasion when
Rickover appeared in the uniform of a full admiral took place
on March 29, 1974, when Rickover Hall was dedicated at the U.S. Naval
Academy. From left are:
Mrs. Rickover (In commander's uniform), Rickover, Congresswoman Marjorie Holt,
Capt Howard
H. Haynes, Academy Superintendent Vice Adm William P. Mack, and Secretary of the
Navy John
Warner. Warner, later a United States Senator, had directed Rickover to
wear his uniform for the
ceremonies".
